So I want to review products, now what??

So in almost all of my reviews you will notice something along the lines of "I received this product for testing and review purposes, compliments of _______". Unless I am just reviewing a product that I purchased (which I am going to start doing more) then there was a website that helped me get the product. As I said in my first post, here are some of the sites that I use most often, how to get started with them, and a brief explanation of how they work. Feel free to comment below if you have more helpful info to add or if you would like additional help with any of them.

The first one I started on was Influenster. Once you make your profile, you link all of your social media sites to it, start reviewing products on the site that you have already tried out or use, and at some point (patience is key on this site) you will start getting pre-surveys in your email. Take them as soon as possible, and you might just be qualified for their next VoxBox. A VoxBox is a box full of free goodies from multiple different brands. They usually have themes, for example, health, beauty, pets, parents. Once you get your goodies its time to spread the love on all of your social networks. You'll have tasks to complete and the more you do, the more likely you are to get more VoxBoxes! Yay!

The second one I started using was Tomoson. This one works a little different, but you will still connect all of your social networks once you make your profile. This is very important on this site. Because from here, you will browse products that companies want to send you to review. Each will have requirements for you to apply for them, for example, you must have 100+ Facebook friends, 100+ twitter followers. That is a common one, but for bigger, more expensive products, they will have more requirements like 500 or 1000 followers and/or additional social networks like Instagram. If you meet the requirements then you can apply for the product. Within a few days usually, the company will hand select the people they want to review their product. If you are approved, they will send you the product and give you task to do, similar to Influenster. The main thing will be writing a blog review. (Yes, you need to have a blog for this one) The companies can then score your blog. The higher scores you have, the more likely you are to get approved for promotions! Unlike Influenster, which can be slow, once you get going on Tomoson, depending on how much stuff you apply for (which is usually everything at first for us excited new bloggers lol), the products will really start rolling in. The site will help you keep track of what you have been approved for, whats on the way and what you have to review.

A little note about the blogs.. There are plenty of ways to easily do this too. If I can do it, then I promise you can too. I actually started as an additional author on my friends blog, which is an option if you have blogger friends. Another super easy option is Tumblr. Its basically a social network where you can very easily create a blog. You can customize it as little or as much as you like. Another is Blogger, very convenient if you already have a Google account. They have premade layouts that again, you can customize as little or as much as you feel comfortable with. I'm obviously still learning.

Another neat site that I just recently started working more on is Crowdtap. This one is neat because it's really easy and has extra benefits. With this one you will create a profile and unlike the others, you will only link your Facebook and Twitter. This is just so you can share content from the brands. Now all you have to do is answer the quickhits, which are basically just survey type questions from the brands. Each brand also has text and photo challenges. All three of these will earn you points for each brand. Every 10 points gets you an entry to that brands drawing. Every month they do drawings for all kinds of gift cards: walmart, amazon, target and others. The more you keep up with it, the betters chances you have of winning gift cards, but I have also won a gift card with a brand that I had only earned one entry that month. So any kind of effort counts. Crowdtap also has missions like Sample and Shares that you can apply for. If you are picked, (doing quickhits & challenges helps your odds) they will send you their brands products for you to sample and either share with friends or share on your social networks. So you have the opportunity to sample products AND win gift cards while your at!!

There are more that I dabble with like: BzzagentPinchmeKlout & Smiley360 and many more I don't know of. But they are all fairly easy to get set up with and navigate if you'd like to try them out also. Feel free to post any others you know of too! I hope this helps, whether you were just interested in how I was getting free stuff (because who DOESN'T love free stuff??) or if you are interested in getting free stuff yourself (because EVERYBODY loves free stuff!!)
